THE TOMAS HIRSCHFELD SCHOLAR AND FACSS STUDENT AWARDS
Award recognizes the most outstanding papers submitted to the SciX Conference by a graduate student. Recipients will receive economy travel to the SciX conference, complimentary registration, and complimentary hotel accommodations.

COBLENTZ STUDENT AWARDS: The Coblentz Society is soliciting nominations of outstanding students for the Coblentz Student Awards. Graduate or undergraduate students who have shown excellence in vibrational spectroscopy and/or coursework including vibrational spectroscopy may be nominated. The nominator must be a member of the Coblentz Society. Deadline is January 31.

SAS STUDENT POSTER AWARDS: A competition for SAS students who are presenting authors at the SciX Conference and will be held and recognition for four outstanding posters will be given. The judging will take place on Sunday evening. All SAS students should put up their posters on Sunday evening before the opening mixer as well as on their assigned presentation day. Student SAS members must select the appropriate box on the on-line paper submission form to ensure they are considered. Student awardees will receive a free 1-year SAS membership and a plaque highlighting their achievement.

SAS UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT: The SAS Undergraduate Student Travel Grant helps to support undergraduate student attendance at SciX. The award is based upon merit and financial need, and students must present a paper at the SciX conference in order to qualify.

AES BLUE FINGERS STUDENT AWARD: The AES Student Award recognizes the most outstanding student paper submitted for the AES Annual Conference by a graduate student. The award recipient will receive a complimentary conference registration* and financial support (up to $700) to attend the AES Annual Conference. The financial support can be used to cover transportation, hotel accommodation and meals. In order to their presentation considered for the AES ‘Blue Fingers’ Student Award, students should submit their abstracts to one the sessions organized by AES during the call for abstracts. The abstract can be submitted to an oral AES session or to the AES poster session. Blue Fingers Award Submissions must be completed by April 30.

*The complimentary registration requires the awardee to volunteer for 4 hours during the conference.

Be sure to take advantage of the student rates for the conference, workshops and the hotel. Send an email to scix@scixconference.org to obtain information on how to reserve a room at the conference student rate of $143 plus taxes.


STUDENT VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for student volunteers to work at the SciX conference. In exchange for 4 hours of your time, you can receive a complimentary conference registration. If you are interested please email the SciX Office at scix@scixconference.org

EMPLOYMENT BUREAU

The Employment Bureau is a free service for all conferees. The employment bureau will be located in the exhibit hall with space for posting job opportunities and a location for those looking for employment to leave their resumes. Be sure to bring several copies of your resume for potential employers to take with them.
